A Non-negative Matrix Tri-factorization Approach to Sentiment Classification with Lexical Prior Knowledge
نویسندگان
چکیده
Sentiment classification refers to the task of automatically identifying whether a given piece of text expresses positive or negative opinion towards a subject at hand. The proliferation of user-generated web content such as blogs, discussion forums and online review sites has made it possible to perform large-scale mining of public opinion. Sentiment modeling is thus becoming a critical component of market intelligence and social media technologies that aim to tap into the collective wisdom of crowds. In this paper, we consider the problem of learning high-quality sentiment models with minimal manual supervision. We propose a novel approach to learn from lexical prior knowledge in the form of domain-independent sentimentladen terms, in conjunction with domaindependent unlabeled data and a few labeled documents. Our model is based on a constrained non-negative tri-factorization of the term-document matrix which can be implemented using simple update rules. Extensive experimental studies demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach on a variety of real-world sentiment prediction tasks.

Sentiment Classification with Graph Co-Regularization
Sentiment classification aims to automatically predict sentiment polarity (e.g., positive or negative) of user-generated sentiment data (e.g., reviews, blogs). To obtain sentiment classification with high accuracy, supervised techniques require a large amount of manually labeled data. The labeling work can be time-consuming and expensive, which makes unsupervised (or semisupervised) sentiment a...
متن کاملBridging Domains with Words: Opinion Analysis with Matrix Tri-factorizations
With the explosion of user-generated web2.0 content in the form of blogs, wikis and discussion forums, the Internet has rapidly become a massive dynamic repository of public opinion on an unbounded range of topics. A key enabler of opinion extraction and summarization is sentiment classification: the task of automatically identifying whether a given piece of text expresses positive or negative ...
متن کاملA new approach for building recommender system using non negative matrix factorization method
Nonnegative Matrix Factorization is a new approach to reduce data dimensions. In this method, by applying the nonnegativity of the matrix data, the matrix is decomposed into components that are more interrelated and divide the data into sections where the data in these sections have a specific relationship. In this paper, we use the nonnegative matrix factorization to decompose the user ratin...
متن کاملIterative Weighted Non-smooth Non-negative Matrix Factorization for Face Recognition
Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF) is a part-based image representation method. It comes from the intuitive idea that entire face image can be constructed by combining several parts. In this paper, we propose a framework for face recognition by finding localized, part-based representations, denoted “Iterative weighted non-smooth non-negative matrix factorization” (IWNS-NMF). A new cost fun...
متن کاملVoice-based Age and Gender Recognition using Training Generative Sparse Model
Abstract: Gender recognition and age detection are important problems in telephone speech processing to investigate the identity of an individual using voice characteristics. In this paper a new gender and age recognition system is introduced based on generative incoherent models learned using sparse non-negative matrix factorization and atom correction post-processing method. Similar to genera...
